100. Lieutenant Thomas Adams (1612–1688), son of Henry Adams and Edith Squire
Thomas Adams was born in 1612 in England. [1, 85]. He was baptized on 25 March 1612 in Barton David. [2, 51] He died on 20 July 1688, age 76. [1, 85][3, 359] He married 1642 in Braintree. [1, 85]
101. Mary Unknown (c. 1613–1695)
Mary was born about 1613 and died on 23 March 1694/5, age 82, in Charlestown. [2, 74]
Thomas Adams became a freeman, along with William Fletcher, Benjamin Butterfield and Robert Proctor on 10 May 1643. [4]
Thomas moved from Braintree to Concord and then to Chelmsford between 1650 and 1654. [1, 85]
Thomas Adams was one of the petitioners for a grant of land for the town of Chelmsford on 19 May 1653. [1, 2–3] Thomas and his wife were early members of the church in 1655. [1, 12] Thomas is on a 1671 tax list in Chelmsford. [1, 59–60]
Thomas was a trustee for Chelmsford in 1654 and 1655 and a trustee for all but two years between 1658 and 1677. He was a representative in 1673. [1, 754–6]
Thomas Adams' wife owned the covenant at the church in Chelmsford on 11 (4) 1656. [1, 26]
Thomas Adams was on a 1 September 1674 list of able-bodied men in Chelmsford. [1, 90]
Thomas was an ensign in 1678 and a lieutenant in 1682. [1, 85]
Children of Thomas and Mary Adams:
i. Mary Adams was born on 24 July 1643 in Braintree and died soon after. [2, 74–75]
ii. Jonathan Adams (twin) was born on 6 March 1645/6 in Concord. [2, 74–75] He was baptised on 1: 12m: 1656 in Chelmsford. [3, 12] He died on 25 November 1712 in Chelmsford. [3]
iii. Pelatiah Adams (twin) was born on 6 March 1645/6 in Concord. He died on 29 April 1725 in Chelmsford. He married Ruth, possibly Ruth Parker
iv. Timothy Adams was born on 15 (2) 1648 in Concord. [5] He was baptised on 1: 12m: 1656 in Chelmsford. [3, 14] He died on 26 February 1761 and was buried on 27 February 1761, age 83, in Chelmsford. [3] He married Mary Unknown by 1675. [6, 1:11]
v. George Adams was born on 29 (3) 1650 in Concord. [5]
vii. Samuel Adams was born about 1652 in Chelmsford. He was baptised on 1: 12m: 1656 in Chelmsford. [3, 13]
vi. Mary Adams was worn bout 1654 in Chelmsford. She baptised on 1: 12m: 1656 in Chelmsford. [3, 13]
viii. Edith Adams was born on 21 February 1655/6 in Chelmsford. [3, 10]
ix. Thomas Adams was born on 22 July 1660 in Chelmsford. [3, 15] He died on 30: 9 M. 1660(?) in Chelmsford. [3]
